Now that there’s no intention of a Terence Crawford (39-0 / 30 by KO) vs. Errol Spence Jr. (28-0 / 22 by KO) super-fight, we are approaching another bout of the same magnitude with two undefeated fighters in Gervonta Davis (28-0 / 26 by KO) vs. Ryan Garcia (23-0 / 19 by KO) – the bout set for April 22.

I have been asked by many to give my prediction of this fight, but first let me say how happy I am that boxing is getting a fan’s dream fight. My take on this much anticipated fight is this – it’s parallel to Aaron Pryor vs. Alexis Arguello. The tall, excellent boxer vs. the smaller, dangerous puncher, with the heights in both respective fights to be just about identical. Davis will take the best from Garcia in the early rounds, and will be behind on the scorecards, as he will emerge to win by a late TKO stoppage.

Here’s my list of the other top ten (10) most interesting fights on the upcoming boxing agenda:

March 25 – David Benavidez (26-0 / 23 by KO) vs. Caleb Plant (22-1 / 13 by KO)

April 1 – Anthony Joshua (24-3 / 22 by KO) vs. Jermaine Franklin (21-1 / 14 by KO)

April 8 – Kenshiro Teraji (20-1 / 12 by KO) vs. Jonathon Gonzalez (27-3-1 / 14 by KO)

April 8 – Shakur Stevenson (19-0 / 9 by KO) vs. Shuichiro Yoshino (16-0 / 12 by KO)

April 8 – Jesse Rodriguez (17-0 / 11 by KO) vs. Christian Gonzalez Hernandez (15-1 / 5 by KO)

May 6 – Canelo Alvarez (58-2-2 / 39 by KO) vs. John Ryder (32-5 / 18 by KO)

May 7 – Steven Fulton Jr. (21-0 / 8 by KO) vs. Naoya Inoue (24-0 / 21 by KO)

May 20 – Chantelle Cameron (17-0 / 8 by KO) vs. Katie Taylor (22-0 / 6 by KO)

May  20 – Devin Haney (29-0 / 15 by KO) vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-2 / 11 by KO)

June 10 – Josh Taylor (19-0 / 13 by KO) vs. Teofimo Lopez (18-1 / 13 by KO)

I know you have many choices in boxing, and I thank you for making dmboxing.com one of your choices. I look forward to your continued support and it’s my absolute pleasure to serve!

  1. Great team produces a great page. I see the Davis v Garcia fight as nearly a tossup. If Garcia can keep Tank outside he wins, but if not Tank will stop him. Your call is quite possible and I like the Pryor v AA comparison. We do have some solid fights ahead in the near future.
