• Bob Foster and the light heavyweight division

By David Martinez / Boxing Historian
I consider myself truly blessed to have seen over the past fifty years all the boxing greats. I have written various articles ranking different boxers in their primes, but I feel compelled to write now about a division in boxing that hardly anyone ever talks about – light heavyweight. […]

  • Greatest Boxer “Pound for Pound”… Ever

Happy Holidays from David Martinez

by John Boitnott, DMBoxing.com Producer

I really like knowing David Martinez. Of course there’s his endless boxing knowledge – his ability to analyze a fight — even as it’s happening. (there’s the $200 I made from his De Lay Hoya prediction one time at the MGM Grand — but that’s a story for another time.)

There’s also the fact that he knows how to handle life situations. He just has a wisdom about him. I respect his advice big time. He knows how to treat people with respect. That’s a quality that a lot of people don’t have. It just comes natural to him because he’s a good, decent man.

But one of the best things he’ll ever do is something that only happens at Halloween. He’ll dress up like a masked wrestler! To see little kids stare at him in amazement is really a kick!

David — Thanks for all you’ve done and for keeping us up to date since you started the site in 2007.
