In Rusty’s Corner

Rusty Rubin is a veteran boxing writer

It’s been a few weeks and no movement of the future of Ringsports.com. Website or magazine. There has been a little interest, but not enough to get me involved in any extra work. For now, I’ll just say that it was a fantastic twenty year run and I don’t think I would change anything, even if I could.

As for the magazine and website, they both remain in limbo, until or unless the time comes when someone wishes to purchase them 다운로드. Anyone interested can contact me directly at rustyrubin@sbcglobal.com.

Glove2Glove, which has been an integral part of the magazine and website, is a program I wish to continue a long after I have left the sport. I want to thank Dave and Deborah Wilcox, who have offered to take over the program and promised to continue it indefinitely. That means a lot to me.***

Now that the summer is gone, the heat remains in the sport of boxing with some outstanding match-ups pending.

The biggest match is on September 19th, when Floyd Mayweather Jr. comes out of retirement to take on a strong and tough opponent in Juan Manuel Marquez 삼국지 12 다운로드.

It remains a mystery as to why Mayweather, picked this tough opponent for his comeback fight, except he should have a significant speed advantage over the always game counter puncher, who at age 36 has kept active against high quality foes.

Mayweather, 32, `like Marquez will be looking ahead to a victory given huge money match against Manny Pacquiao. Either match-up is intriguing, but neither fighter wants to look ahead and take his mind off his opponent now.

Mayweather has a lot on his plate. Although in shape he has some well documented legal problems, and that too can take a bit of an edge off his performance 다운로드.

Marquez on the other hand has bulked up and looks strong at his new weight. The big questions are yet to be answered, for Marquez, it’s can he take the big punch up in weight with him?

For Mayweather, how much will the ring rust caused by the year lay-off affect his performance?

It’s not a hard match to analyze. Mayweather is not a big hitter, but Marquez, who isn’t fleet afoot has cut on occasion. Mayweather will be on the attack, using hit and run maneuvers while Marquez is a solid counter-puncher.

Most people think that Marquez should be able to go the distance and Mayweather take the easy decision.

I don’t see it being quite that easy. Floyd hasn’t fought since Dec. of 2007, and even at that time his list of opponents read like more of a who was rather than who’s who in our sport. In short a list of quality, high recognition foes who had seen better days. I don’t know how much Mayweather has slowed down, or if weight gain has a negative affect on Marquez.

If Mayweather can’t handle the affects of the lay-off, Marquez will be landing heavily. That is, if he can handle the extra poundage. It’s important to keep in mind that a fighter’s legs are always the first to go. But that rationale can apply to either of these combatants.

It’s an intriguing fight with a lot on the line for both combatants.

I don’t see it being an easy fight for Mayweather. He picked a tough hombre in Marquez who is not going to go away easily. If he cuts early on, Mayweather takes the fight. If not, it goes the distance, and in that event, a very slight edge to Mayweather.

Either way, this could be one of the great fights of the year.

Another intriguing match on the undercard when Chris John takes on Rocky Juarez. Juarez is a game fighter, but you never know when the real Rocky Juarez will show up. That being said, I look for Chris John to take a close decision.
