In Rusty’s Corner

Rusty Rubin has been a boxing writer for more than 30 years

IMG_0428I’m not setting a firm deadline, but if you have stories to help with my next book, which 100% of the proceeds will be used in the fight against cancer, please get them to me as soon as you can.

I’m looking for stories of miracles, faith, and inspiration, not necessarily boxing related, to help inspire those in need and to support the effort to finally wipe out this dread disease.

For more information, please read the bottom of this article.

No predictions of any kind yet for the upcoming Mayweather vs. Canelo fight, except it could be a real barn-burner.

The big fight this week is absolutely capable and even more probable to add that much excitement to your viewing pleasure 다운로드.

On June 8th, from the Home Depot Center in Carson California, and televised on ShowTime.

The bout, for the WBA International Welterweight championship (don’t ask me about all these titles) whatever significance that has features two guys who can both box and bang. This should be a surefire recipe for excitement.

Champion Marcos Maidana is 33-3, with 30 coming by way of knockout. He’s beaten some solid fighters, but really hasn’t performed up to expectations, and at 29, he’s going to have to show a bit motivation. Not that his record isn’t impressive, and he’s beaten some names, but the three losses haven’t been against the top tier, although that case can be made for his loss to Amir Khan.

Maidana, from Argentina, is a legitimate knockout puncher, who also can box very well when required to do so.

Josesito Lopez has a record of 30-5, with 18 of those wins coming by way of knockout 다운로드. Lopez hasn’t faced the quality of foes that Maidana has, but is a year younger and two and a half inches to the good in the important reach department. If he can use his jab well, it’s a big advantage.

So, the question is going to be how motivated Maidana will be against a foe with the big edge in the reach department.

Not going to hedge my bets here, Lopez has showed he’s a hungrier fighter than Maidana, and that, baring a knockout, should allow him to win a close decision in an action-packed fight.

Glove2Glove, which had been a long-time integral part of the recently defunct Ringsports.com magazine and website. It is a wonderful program that I wish to have continued a long after I have left the sport and this earth. I want to thank Dave and Deborah Wilcox, who have offered to take over the program and promised to continue it indefinitely. Their generous offer means a lot to me. We always welcome new members.***

Thanks and God bless.***
