FIGHTER OF THE YEAR:
Manny Pacquiao, who won all of his three big fights in 2008, Juan Manuel Marquez (March), David Diaz (June), Oscar De La Hoya (December).
FIGHT OF THE YEAR:
Israel Vazquez vs. Rafael Marquez (March 1) WBC Super Bantamweight Championship, Vazquez wins 12 round split decision.
ROUND OF THE YEAR:
Kendell Holt vs. Ricardo Torres (July 5) WBO Junior Welterweight Championship, Holt down twice and Torres down once in 61 seconds of first round – Holt by knockout.
KNOCKOUT OF THE YEAR:
Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Daniel Ponce De Leon (June 7) WBO Super Bantamweight Championship, Lopez wins by knockout in first round.
FIGHTER COMEBACK OF THE YEAR:
Vitali Klitschko vs. Samuel Peter (October 11) WBC Heavyweight Championship, after being retired for almost four years Klitschko wins title by knockout in round nine.
FIGHTER PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR:
Bernard Hopkins vs. Kelly Pavlik (Oct 18), at age 43 Hopkins wins EVERY round against the previously unbeaten 26 year old WBC/WBO Middleweight Champion.
FIGHT FANS DREAM FIGHT:
Antonio Margarito vs. Miguel Cotto (July 26), WBA Welterweight Championship, Margarito comes from behind on scorecards to “KO” Cotto in round eleven.
