To all the great fans who have supported Fight Club OC for the past 10 years, here is what the Fight Club OC shows will look like in this new year of 2021. Knowing that the Covid-19 situation and the protocols required by the California State Athletic Commission still make it difficult to stage shows in The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, promoter Roy Englebrecht is announcing that the first Fight Club OC show of 2021 will take place on Thursday, June 10th.
Englebrecht Promotions & Events will stage four Fight Club OC shows instead of their customary six shows, with 2021 Thursday dates now set for June 10th, August 26th, October 21st, and December 2nd.
“As much as I want to get back to putting on Fight Club OC shows and to satisfy the many fans who have been in touch with me wanting to get back to attending, I didn’t want to rush things too early and then have to cancel a show,” said Englebrecht. “I believe that by June most people will have been vaccinated and will feel comfortable attending with other fans, plus the state should be allowing fans to attend sporting event by that time.” To all Fight Club OC Season Seat Holders, VIP Suite Holders, and Sponsors, a 2021 Renewal Packet will be mail out by early April and be assured that your seats and suites locations will still be where you had them in 2020.

This Saturday, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is one of the few fights that is actually worth a PPV. In a day in which PPV in both MMA and boxing, there are many fights that are undeserving.
Today’s heavyweight group is actually full of some actually good fighters at the top of the heavyweight division.
Wilder is the Alabama masher, who can end a fight with one punch, something he showed against Luis Ortiz. In both Ortiz fight, he was behind on points, but he stopped Ortiz both times. In their first fight, Ortiz even stunned Wilder and forced Wilder to actually survive.
Against Fury, Wilder was consistently frustrated by Fury boxing skills. Fury is an unusual fighter for even though he is 6’9”, he is a very good boxer who has good foot movement. Fury frustrated Wladimir Klitschko in their bout. While many of us thought at the time, Klitschko age finally showed and certainly at the age of 40, there were times, he never seems to be able to pull the trigger. While age played a factor in his loss, so did Fury boxing style which also frustrated Wilder as well.
