There was another explosion this past weekend other than the Seattle Seahawks. Unbeaten Gennady Golovkin successfully defended his WBA middleweight title with a convincing 7th round knockout win over contender Osumanu Adama. The bout was held on Saturday night, February 1, 2014 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Golovkin dropped the Ghanaian fighter in rounds one, six and seven; when, finally, referee Luis Pabon had seen enough, he wisely stopped the one-sided contest one minute and twenty seconds into round seven.
Golovkin defended his belt for the 10th time to improve to 29-0 with 26 by knockout. Adama’s record dropped to 22-4.
