Rusty Rubin is the editor of Ringsports.com website and author of three acclaimed boxing books! “Woozel, Boxing and Me”, “Off the Canvas” and “Billy Soose, the Champion Time Forgot” co-authored by Tom Donelson.
In these hard economic times, any or all of these books will make an excellent and inexpensive Christmas present to the boxing fan(s) in your life. To order, just go to Autorhouse.com.
Speaking of books, here’s new one to check out “Heavyweight Armaggedon: The Tyson – Lewis Championship Battle”, written by Scoop Malinowski, and available at amazon.com. This book covers eyewitness accounts of the fight. It’s a book you want to add to your boxing library.***
One major fight to focus on this weekend, and it takes place in the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Young, tough, and undefeated Kelly Pavlik takes on aging but ring wise, ex-champ and veteran of many wars, Bernard Hopkins.
Pavlik has been more than impressive in his career and seems to get better and better with each fight, but, till now he’s never fought anyone like Hopkins who knows every trick in the book.
This is a hard fight to pick, but I’ll give a hard fought decision to the younger man, Pavlik, who will prevail and learn a lot in this match.
Is this HBO light heavyweight bout worth the PPV price? If Hopkins can start out strong early, it certainly should be.
Glove 2 Glove:

My good friend and former President of the World Boxing Hall of Fame, Norm Cote, suffered a heart attack and although now our of the hospital is in need of your prayers. Things haven’t been going well for Norm of late, as he’s been on dialysis for a while also. Norm’s a fighter and so is his wonderful wife Annie.***
Prayers also for former World Boxing Hall of Fame President Charlie Casas who is having some severe health problems as well as one of the founders and past President, Dub Harris, who suffered a stroke.
