Although Lucia Rijker was the greatest P4P female boxer that I ever saw, my favorite was Kelsey Jeffries who fought professionally from 1999 to 2014.

I’ve certainly had the pleasure to coach many young female boxers that have come in to train and workout at our local gym, Duke’s Boxing, with my favorite “stand-out” being Desiree D’Alessandro (2009-2011). After earning her Masters Degree at the University of California Santa Barbara, she went on to capture Novice Middleweight titles at tournaments including the 2012 Florida Golden Gloves, 2012 Florida USA Boxing Championships, 2012 Southwest Florida Championships, and the 2014 Women’s National Golden Gloves. To this day, we’ve remained connected and she lives 3,000 miles away in Tampa, Florida … now that’s the definition of a true “respected” friendship!
