Costa Mesa: There is an old saying that says “it isn’t bragging if it is true”, and that really rings true for the Thursday, June 20th Fight Club OC show. Promoter Roy Englebrecht isn’t bragging when he says that the featured bout on the card may be the best matchup in the past 10 years.
8-0 Jordan Panthen set to face 8-2 Victor Toney
“Without a doubt most every promoter, matchmaker, trainer, and booker will be watching this bout which will feature 8-0 Jordan Panthen vs 8-2 Victor Toney,” said Englebrecht. “Panthen, a former national amateur champion, has 7 knockouts and is coming off a second round knockout over tough 19-5 Ravshan Hudaynazarov on the April Fight Club OC show. Victor Toney with six knockouts, and the cousin of former world champion James Toney, is coming off a big upset win over 13-1 Jahyae Brown on a DAZN show, plus he went the distance with current WBC world champion Sebastian Fundora. You do not want to miss the fight.”
The six bout fight card will feature the return of 3-0 Dorian Mendez as he faces 1-2 Raymond Benavides. 5-0 Jamie Cerna returns to Fight Club OC and fights for the Tequila Mandala Young Champions Belt against 2-2 Simon Aristegui from Oxnard. We have one light weight MMA matchup in the middle of the show set with Adam Garcia facing Curtis Hill. Plus, two fighters making their boxing pro debuts will be Billy Jamal Timmons from Cypress as he faces Nesly Trezile from Los Angeles. Our opening boxing bout will see Steven Shareef debuting against Julian Baez a veteran of one pro fight.
With less than 150 tickets left online for this show, don’t delay as this June 20th show is guaranteed to sell out! Tickets are priced at $55 and $65 and are available online at www.socafights.com.

Jordan Panthen sounds like a fine young prospect. Boxing needs more grassroots cards like these. These build young fighters and gives them a chance even without a big time promoter
