Former super middleweight champion Andre Ward (30-0 / 15 by KO) scored a twelve round “lopsided” decision over Alexander Brand (25-2 / 19 by KO) on Saturday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California in a bout that was televised by HBO.
Ward was in command from the start to end and when a fighter wins every minute of every round it makes for a very non competitive “predictable” boring fight.
The judges scores were all the same 120-108 … my scorecard was 120-108 – twelve rounds to zero for the winner Ward.
So enough said – the bigger news is that this now sets up the long awaited showdown between two undefeated light heavyweights to finally meet – champion Sergey Kovalev and Andre Ward, scheduled for November 19 on HBO/PPV from Las Vegas.
