John Boitnott … My “Original” Website Producer

*** FLASHBACK – This article originally appeared on dmboxing.com on January 1, 2009 … I treasure my friendship with John Boitnott, who originally developed this website for me, as I am now the producer of dmboxing.com. I will always be thankful to John for providing me with one of the grandest gifts that I could have received. As this opportunity has evolved, it has become my gift to everyone that has kindly supported me as I provide boxing, as I know it best, to the world – thank you!

John Boitnott and David Martinez

I have had some of you ask me about my website producer, who is John Boitnott, one of my best friends.

I met John about twelve years ago when I was doing boxing reports for KEYT news radio 1250AM with sports director Randy Lee and morning personality John Palminteri.

John Boitnott was the producer and board operator for that daily show in Santa Barbara, California and we instantly began a friendship through boxing and it has blossomed through the years to today.

Happy Halloween!

*** FLASHBACK – This article originally appeared on dmboxing.com on October 31, 2010.

Soon after that that time John Boitnott  became the Web-Master and I have become the producer of dmboxing.com.  John has been so instrumental with the success of this website these past ten years and the success that it will continue to be – Thank You!

By John Boitnott  / dmboxing.com Producer

I really like knowing David Martinez. Of course there’s his endless boxing knowledge – his ability to analyze a fight – even as it’s happening. I respect his advice big time. One of the best things he does is something that only happens at Halloween. He will dress up like a masked wrestler. So let me share with you now a photo of this years 2010 edition of him at a party posing with young lady – Kim. He will always accommodate others for a picture and let me say that it’s my absolute pleasure to serve as his producer since this website started back in July 2007 – thank you David!

[BTW – David wears a different mask each year and changes tattoos to fit his attire. It is fake.  This guy is as clean cut as they come  with no markings on his body.]

FROM THE DESK OF: David Martinez / Boxing Historian (Winter 2010 Edition)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas 2010 and to say thank you for making my website one of your choices in boxing.

(Summer 2010 Edition)

Each quarter, I write to thank the many people that make this website possible; that single subject is always the main focus because as a captain of this ship, if I had no crew , I have NO way to sail. So, I would like once again to mention the personnel that help make this website the success that it has become today.

In no particular order they are John Boitnott (Producer), Bob Quackenbush (Proof Reader and Photo Editing), Rusty Rubin (In Rusty’s Corner), Jim Amato (Senior Boxing Writer), Rick Farris (Free Lance Writer), Nancy Cole (Proof Reader), and Kathy Kraft (Proof Reader).

Happy “Three Year” Anniversary!

By David Martinez / Boxing Historian

It was three years ago, July 15, 2007, that I brought you this website and dmboxing was born.

My purpose in starting this website is to bring boxing fans all around the world the best that I can offer, drawing from my 50 years of love and passion that I have for the sport. My primary focus is to maintain a format that has a personal touch coming from my wealth of knowledge, along with honest opinions to share with all of you.

The people that have stepped up and have joined me to help make this website the success that it has been over the past 36 months have been so incredible that I can only thank God for placing them in my life. Continue reading Happy “Three Year” Anniversary!

Happy Holidays from David Martinez

by John Boitnott, DMBoxing.com Producer

I really like knowing David Martinez. Of course there’s his endless boxing knowledge – his ability to analyze a fight — even as it’s happening. (there’s the $200 I made from his De La Hoya prediction one time at the MGM Grand — but that’s a story for another time.)

There’s also the fact that he knows how to handle life situations. He just has a wisdom about him. I respect his advice big time. He knows how to treat people with respect. That’s a quality that a lot of people don’t have. It just comes natural to him because he’s a good, decent man.

But one of the best things he’ll ever do is something that only happens at Halloween. He’ll dress up like a masked wrestler! To see little kids stare at him in amazement is really a kick!

David — Thanks for all you’ve done and for keeping us up to date since you started the site in 2007.

Happy Holidays! It is truly a pleasure to be associated with David and his boxing world!

— Your Friend — John Boitnott
