FROM THE DESK OF: David Martinez / Boxing Historian

 (Summer 2012 Edition)

On a quarterly basis, I always like to write and say thank you to my fan base for making this website one of your choices in boxing. I would also like to say thank you to the  people that help make this website the success that it is. They are: John Boitnott (Producer), Bob Quackenbush (Photo Editing and Proof Reader), Kathy Kraft (Proof Reader), Nancy Cole (Proof Reader), Rusty Rubin (In Rusty’s Corner / Glove 2 Glove), Tom Donelson (Boxing Writer / Member Boxing Writers Association), Jim Amato (Senior Boxing Writer), and Adam Pollack (Guest Post Writer). These are the main core of people that I must acknowledge for the seemingly effortless roles they add to dmboxing.com

My t-shirt, hat, and tank top girls, who pose wearing my products, add a special touch as they contribute their beauty with class and respect. The product items are: white long sleeve polo t-shirt ($15.00) only available in one size (XL); Blue short sleeve t-shirt ($12.00) available in all sizes; Hat ($13.00) with Velcro strap to fit all; and tank top ($10.00) available in all sizes except (XL). Thank you to model (above photo) Adriana. To order any dmboxing.com products the mailing address is: Post Office Box 41536, Santa Barbara, California 93140

As a boxing historian, an avid collector and having endless passion for the sport for over fifty years, I want to continue to strive to bring you the best that I can in boxing in a most respectable and professional way. The fan mail I receive is much appreciated and I respect everyone’s opinions.

On a personal note, I am connected to many other boxing websites, in which I offer my comments and expertise in writing. One of these sites is run by my friend Edgar Gonzalez which is a great boxing site and one I fully support. Although it differs from mine, and no websites are alike, I encourage you to view Edgar at: myboxingfans.com

If there is anything that I can help or assist you with in boxing, please feel free to contact me through my personal email at: dmmcgn9@verizon.net

Have a safe and wonderful summer and may God bless you!

FROM THE DESK OF: David Martinez / Boxing Historian

(Fall 2011 Edition)

On a quarterly basis, I always write to thank and acknowledge the many people that make this website the success that it is. My producer, John Boitnott, is simply brilliant in putting my work together to be viewed by our many fans in a positive and professional manner. My other key people who do their part in outstanding fashion are: Bob Quackenbush (Proof Reader and Photo Editing), Kathy Kraft (Proof Reader), Rusty Rubin (In Rusty’s Corner), Jim Amato (Senior Boxing Writer), Tom Donelson (Fight Correspondent Writer), Rick Farris (Free Lance Boxing Writer), and Ray Luna (Photographer). Without these people I would literally be a captain of a ship with no crew; their input is valued beyond belief and I am so grateful.

My t-shirt, hat, and tank top girls, who pose wearing my products, add a personal touch as they contribute their beauty and support to this website.

Next month you will see middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and later this year in December you will see Harold Lederman from HBO World Championship Boxing displaying my official “collector’s edition” white website t-shirt.

I would also like to thank my t-shirt suppliers, Garrett and Jose of Isla Vista Screen Printing, for their excellent work, friendship, and personal touch in making these garments. If you are interested in their services, they can be contacted at www.THEIVPS.com or call (805) 845-1333.
I would like to encourage my fan base to take a look at boxing historian Tony Triem’s website. He goes back years further than most boxing website’s that I have seen, with very interesting views. Tony and I have something in common; we both agree that Al Nelson and Hank Kaplin were the foremost boxing historians that we have ever met. Tony’s website address is http://members.cox.net/boxer561/

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY # 4

By David Martinez / Boxing HistorianFour years ago, July 15, 2007, I brought you this website in living color. The initial brain storming of this website I owe to John Boitnott, who approached me in early 2007 and simply told me, “Why not,” that I have all the ingredients to bring the world my love and passion of boxing. He also said that he would be honored to help me by being my producer. So, a dream became a reality and  dmboxing.com  was born.

In these past four years I have attained much respect from a growing fan base by giving you boxing as I live it every day of my life. In addition, a unique and select group of people have bonded and given me their expertise, and they have certainly enhanced this website in what it has become today and will be in future.
