FIGHT OF THE YEAR: Andre Berto vs. Victor Ortiz (April 16)

Berto down in round one, Ortiz down in round two and both fighters down in round six … Ortiz wins WBC Welterweight title over previously unbeaten Berto by unanimous 12 round decision in a high energy paced fight.

ROUND OF THE YEAR: Alfredo Angulo vs. James Kirkland / Round 1 (November 5)

This fight starts off right from the opening bell in non-stop action. Just thirty seconds into the round Angulo drops Kirkland with a counter right hand , as it appears Kirkland is done, he survives and as the round nears the end he delivers his own punch that drops Angulo – in a round for the ages.

KNOCKOUT OF THE YAER:  NONITO DONAIRE VS. FERNANDO MONTIEL (February 19)A picture perfect left hook by Donaire. The KO punch came early and unexpectedly in the second round. Donaire wins the WBC / WBO Bantamweight belts with spectacular knockout.

FIGHTER COMEBACK PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR: Mike Alvarado vs. Breidis Prescott (November 12)Alvarado behind on all scorecards going into final round, cut in the mouth and eye swollen almost shut, he knocks out Prescott with a minute and seven seconds left in the fight.

UPSET OF THE YEAR: Fernando Guerrero vs. Grady Brewer (June 17)

Forty year old Brewer (27-12) scores 4th round knockout over the younger 24 year old undefeated Guerrero (21-0) in their NABF junior middleweight title fight.
