This fight was a measure of how great Floyd Mayweather still was and Victor Ortiz’s job was to test the mantle of Mayweather’s invincibility.  The buzz from many pundits that Ortiz had a chance and much was questioned about Mayweather’s age and 16 months vacation from the ring.  The universal consensus was that Mayweather would win but Ortiz may have been his toughest competitor in a while.  CNNSI.com Chris Mannix summed up conventional wisdom, “Now, the fight: I’m picking Mayweather, by unanimous decision 다운로드. Ortiz is good. When you factor in his age (24) and size, he is probably the best opponent Mayweather has faced since Oscar De La Hoya. But — and this is a big but — Floyd is just in a different class 코믹 메이플스토리 다운로드. Yes, he’s older and you can’t point to many welterweights who are still in their primes when they hit 34. But his conditioning, his otherworldly skill level and the lack of wear and tear on his body make him unique…Ortiz’s only shot is to knock him out Netbus download. That won’t be easy; just hitting Mayweather hasn’t been easy. But if Ortiz can work the body early, can make it an even fight over the first four rounds and make Mayweather think he needs a knockout, he has a chance.”

Mayweather started the fight with a jab and he dodged Ortiz punches before landing a couple of body shots followed by flurry of quick hands before Ortiz backed him back.  Thus the main event of the $60 PPV began.  Mayweather’s quickness showed up immediately but Ortiz managed in the second round to land a solid right hook along with body shots before Mayweather countered with a right 다운로드. In what was another good round, Ortiz did not back down and may have even taken the round.

This was Ortiz high water mark as Mayweather backed Ortiz in the third round with his quick hands.  Ortiz was less effective when forced to back up and Mayweather skills started to show up.  Within the opening seconds of the fourth round, Mayweather landed thundering combinations and Ortiz looked befuddle like” what do I do now?”  Ortiz went back to his battering style and even landed a couple of punches while Mayweather smugly signaled, “I am not hurt, I am not hurt.” Continue reading Mayweather – Ortiz

Klitschko & Gamboa win!

 By Tom Donnelson

( Member Boxing Writers Assc 다운로드. & International Boxing Research Org. )

(Wroclaw, Poland)  The Heavyweight division is the Klitschko’s brothers personal fiefdom and everyone must pay tribute by taking a licking.  Since 2004, no one has even come close to beating the Klitschko’s brothers and this past Saturday fight between Vitali Klitschko and Tomasz Adamek was no exception. Adamek, the former Cruiserweight and light heavyweight champion, proved game but no match for he was too small and did not possess enough of powerful punch to make a difference.  The other problem for Adamek, was that at the age of 40, Vitali Klitschko still possesses sharp reflex to parry of any attacks. Klitschko is one of those tall fighters who fights like a tall fighter; using his jab effectively to control real estate.  Throughout the bout, Adamek had problems with getting inside Klitschko’s jab and Klitschko averaged 40 plus jabs per round with those jabs successful blunting any attack that Adamek attempted.  Unlike David Haye, who spent most of his bout against Wladimir avoiding combat, Adamek attempted to fight 다운로드.

One example of Adamek spirit and technical skills came in the fifth round in which a more aggressive approach allowed him to connect with a combination that even shook Vitali for a brief moment but those combinations were few and far between.  From the middle of the second round through the sixth, occasional rallies by Adamek gave the Polish faithful that a miracle would yet happen for their favorite son; but those moments were mere illusion in which a brave fighter managed to come up with the occasional connect but paying the price.   Adamek face at the end of the fight showed the results as all but three punches that Vitali connected hit Adamek’s face 세장의 부적 다운로드.

At the end of the second round, a Vitali right connected and sent Adamek reeling back in the rope, with the rope keeping Adamek from hitting the canvas.  The referee did not count the punch as a knockdown even thought he could.  The next time, Vitali sent Adamek reeling into the rope with another right but this time, the referee counted this as a knockdown, rightly concluding correctly that the rope held Adamek up 동요 mp3 다운로드. Berto Wins!

By Tom Donelson

( Member of Boxing Writers Association and International Boxing Research Organization )

Andre Berto was scheduled to fight on HBO but not the fight that he expected.  A few months ago, Berto was readied for a possible fight with Floyd Mayweather, Jr 킹덤스토리 다운로드. but it was Victor Ortiz who ended up with the fight after he upset Berto.  Berto had his chance when he had Ortiz down in the sixth but Ortiz did not wilt and even knock Berto down in the same round.  From that point Ortiz won the decision and Berto now is fighting to get back into the Welterweight elites 다운로드.

Prospect Gary Russel began the evening by fighting veteran Leanilo Miranda in an eight round fight. Russell began the fight by coming forward and boxing against the cautious Miranda but neither fighter did much damage even though Russell connected on some solid shots at the end of round.  At the beginning of the second round, Russell pushed Miranda to rope on several occasions and nailed Miranda with combinations including a right hand hook from his southpaw stances.   As the third round progressed, Russell quick hands started to take hold as he continued to walk Miranda down while nailing Miranda with three and four punches combinations but Russell power had yet to punish Miranda bullet force 다운로드.

Russell showed a variety of skills as he stuffed Miranda with solid body shots that caused Miranda to flinch for the first time in the fight during the fourth round.   Miranda punches lost steam as he started to absorb Russell best shots.  The fourth round caused a change in strategy for Miranda as he decided to come out on the attack in the fifth round, but this lasted only about thirty seconds as Russell superior hand speed took hold and forced Miranda to retreat 다운로드.

Thoughts on Khan and Fury

By Tom Donelson

Zab Judah found himself with one more opportunity to win a big fight, this one from Amir Khan and become an elite fighter once again.  At the age of 33, Judah moved down in weight to the 140 pound division but Khan would be a big fight 시크릿 가든 대본 다운로드. As for Khan, he came into the fight as the younger and bigger fighter against an older but experienced boxer who has his share of big fights.  This fight happened because Tim Bradley chose not to fight Khan and Khan simply moved to the next best thing; Judah 다운로드.

Khan began the first round by jabbing and looking for openings whereas Judah showed patience as Khan early jabs missed.  Khan long jab kept Judah a safe distance and where Judah did managed a right hook from his southpaw stance; he did very little offensively 다운로드.

Thoughts on HBO and Showtime fights!

By Tom Donelson

( Member of Boxing Writers Association )

Paul Williams came off a two round knock out lost suffered at the hand of Sergio Martinez against Cuban fighter Erislandy Lara in a comeback fight.  For Williams, there would be no change in style against a fighter similar in style to Martinez.  As for Lara, the sixteen fight career did not fully show his boxing experience since he had fought 300 plus amateur fights 원더 한글자막 다운로드.

The record will show a majority decision victory for Paul Williams but the reality was that Erislandy won the fight in the ring whereas Williams won it on scorecard.  In the first three rounds Erislandy score with his left easily as Williams seem to be continuously to be caught with the same punch over and over throughout the fight 다운로드.

In the fourth and fifth round, it looked like Lara was tiring as Williams pressured the Cuban fighter.  Even in the sixth round, Lara mouth was open as Williams continued the pressure but Lara returned to what worked in the opening rounds as he hit Williams with those devastating left 다운로드.

Lara got a second wind in the seventh round as he moved consistently in position to hit Williams with his left.  This continued throughout the next four rounds, the same thing continued to happen as Lara maneuvered himself beautifully allowing him to step away and fired away with those left but even his jab was more effective than Williams.  Williams was told by his corner that he needed a knockout and in the twelfth, he went for that knockout and while he threw ton of punches, he failed to stop Lara 다운로드. Unknown to him and his corner, he had the judges on his side.

Williams and his corner used the same strategy that cost him the Martinez fight and his three losses were to southpaw.  While the HBO staff made the case that maybe we have seen the best of Williams, it could easily be style that conflicts with his own 다운로드. Williams does not use his heights and fights like he is 5’9” instead of 6’2”.  Against southpaws, he is vulnerable to straight lefts over his right that he holds low.  Williams doesn’t have to fight since he has kept his money, invested wisely and lives simply.  On this night he looked like a shot fighter who survived a bad decision but it could simply be a case of wrong style.  As for his goal of fighting Sergio Martinez, there was nothing tonight to show that he could beat the Argentina champion in a rubber match html 서버 파일.
